All types of manufacturers - alcohol, tobacco, pharmaceutical, software, and music, to name a few, need to be mindful of potential loss through counterfeit trade or product diversion. Packaging is often the last line of defense in protecting ones product and, ultimately, ones brand.
An unobtrusive and effective way to track products from production to market is with the addition of secure coding. To that end Linx Continuous Ink Jet Printers (CIJ) offer inks for discrete coding. These inks are nearly invisible under normal light but fluorescent blue or red under UV light. Manufacturers use them to add internal codes onto the product packaging or directly onto the product itself.
These fast drying, solvent based inks are water resistant once dry. They’re formulated for use in Linx CIJ printers; some of the industry’s most reliable printers due to their superior sealed, no-adjustment printhead design and point of print viscosity control.
