Industrial Automated All-Electric Print & Apply Labeling Machine

Diagraph’s current generation industrial print and apply label applicators reduce downtime and limit the amount of skilled labor needed for operation. Industry-leading smart technology uses sensors to reduce label application complications, ensuring a one-to-one label to product match. Users can remotely adjust system settings and view system statuses across the PA7100 industrial labeling printer without the need for manual interventions on the production line. The PA7100 allows manufacturers to reliably print and apply labels in various applications including the side, top, front, rear and corner-wrap of product, case and pallet panels.

As the leading all-electric, servo-driven, automated print and apply system on the market, this pressure sensitive labeling system enables manufacturers to completely replace conventional pneumatic systems with a fully electric option that controls the label with pinpoint accuracy on side, top and corner-wrap applications throughout travel. The smart, all-electric design allows for automated real-time adjustments, making it easier than ever to apply self-adhesive labels on boxes and pallets with varying heights, distances and speeds.

E-WASA

The E-WASA (wipe-around-side-apply) applicator integrates seamlessly with the PA7100 box label printer to handle heavy duty corner wrap label applications. With the WASA applicator, the label is wiped on one corner of the box and then carried over to the other side before being wiped along the other side as well. The design helps ensure consistent label placement on secondary and tertiary packaging.

Why is an all-electric label applicators system better than pneumatic labeling equipment?

Most manufacturing plants have an inability to deliver consistent psi and cfm to equipment that requires air to operate. This results in the faulty operation of that equipment. This is compounded by the fact that it is almost impossible to determine that the culprit is the inconsistency of the air system unless you constantly monitor the air being delivered to the equipment.

This leaves manufacturers with a problem that cannot be solved because they cannot be sure what caused it. Too many times, equipment will be blamed for the problem and adjustments will be made that either mask the problem or create new ones. Either way, this can consume resources, including skilled labor, and increase more downtime. By using an electric actuator, Diagraph removes the possibility of the failure point of inconsistent air. Either the electricity is there or it is not.

As a general rule, the air systems of most plants contain water and contaminants no matter how much it is filtered. This will cause the inside of the cylinder to rust and start sticking, creating label jams. Eventually the whole cylinder will have to be replaced once the rust becomes too great.

An air driven system that uses a venturi to create the vacuum will be sucking into it any debris in the air and corrugate dust off of the boxes that the tamp pad touches. These will collect in the venturi or filter and cause the suction to deteriorate over time. Operators will address this issue by increasing the vacuum until this no longer solves the problem. At this point, a maintenance person will have to come to the machine to clean out the filter and venturi.

Diagraph’s all-electric system utilizes an electric fan to create the vacuum while allowing contaminates to pass through with no effects to the label hold and apply process. This helps eliminate the risk of inconsistent performance. Another benefit to this industrial label machine is the sensor controlled logical feed system offers more reliability by preventing hardware wear and failure. Not only is the labeling applicator more beneficial to the manufacturer, but the optional applicators and sensors ensure the consistent, reliable performance of the system throughout the product lifecycle.
